2006 Grants Received

The FFPD has received the following grants in 2006

Grant for security cameras at station #3 training center from Illinois Public Risk Fund (IPRF)

Received a grant for $931,000.00 for the sole purpose of hiring 9 full time employees.  This amount is spread out over a five year period.

This grant is a Federal Assistance Grant under the Staffing for Adequate Emergency Response (SAFER) through the department of Homeland Security.

In January of 2007 the FFPD received a grant in the amount of $5200.00; this grant will be used for front end video cameras that will be placed in several vehicles to monitor driving.  The cameras record activity to the front end of the vehicle.

On April 02, 2007 the FFPD will swear in 15 new Firefighter/Paramedics.  The new employees along with several other new employees will attend an in-house academy where all fire/rescue/EMS skills will be assessed and evaluated.
