The Board of Fire Commissioners derives its powers and authority from 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1.1 & 70 ILCS 705/16.01 of the State of Illinois . Scope of duties include: establishing polices for the recruiting, testing, selection and promotion of all full time members under its authority. Establishing guidelines & procedures for the hearing required for discipline and termination of members of the district covered by its authority. Serving as an appeals board or hearing board for the district members who are covered by its authority.
